Our Opening Day - 21 Aug 1939 |

This school Town Lane Infants School was opened this morning for the first attendance of scholars.
The staffing arrangements are
* Head Teacher - Florence Bullock
* Assistant Teachers - Elsie May Smith C.C.T, Gertrude Marth Harper C.N.T, Dorothy Lu Whitehouse C.C.T
* Temporary Teacher - Megan Margaret Evan C.C.T
131 children were admitted from the other school Higher Bebington Juniors & Infants.
15 new children were admitted.
Miss Earlam called during the morning, Ms Merrich chairman & Ms Johnson attendance officer called during the afternoon sessions.
After morning assembly the children were arranged in classes according to ages – all parents present recorded names and ages of children for waiting list. |
