Pastoral Care and Discipline

The Headteacher and teachers are always willing to discuss with parents any problems with regard to the welfare and progress of their child.

The teaching staff have received training on abuse within the Child Protection Act and are aware of the correct procedure to follow.

Children are encouraged to be responsible for their own behaviour within the school and environment at large.

Children are involved in arriving at a set of desirable rules of behaviour. The SEAL programme (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning) underpins our Behaviour Policy.

Parents of children with behavioural problems are informed and their co-operation sought. Advice from external agencies may be sought if appropriate.

All members of staff are involved in the day to day life of the school and share in the pastoral care of the children.

During the lunch period, the children are in the care of the Senior Supervisory Assistant who is supported by supervisory assistants. The majority of our Supervisory Staff are additionally class Support Assistants and therefore well known to the children
