Parents are encouraged to be involved in school life, in the classrooms, cooking activities, the library, the garden, school visits, making equipment, special occasions, e.g. Harvest, Christmas and fund raising events. Talking to children about their culture and their talents/work.
Many parents have been successfully encouraged to pursue qualifications in childcare ie NVQ 2 & 3 whilst working as volunteers in school, and have themselves gained employment in this field.
Town Lane prides itself in welcoming parents into school to support children. This support is in valuable to school and parents themselves find it extremely rewarding.
It's lovely to see the children improving week by week, and know that I’m part of it.
It's a great way to help and support the school.
